AprilTwentySixth2011:Mural in Progress By Pastime

Yesterday was rain day. Between then and now, the "P" was tagged by someone lacking imagination, cleverness and talent. I disagree that there is no art in graffiti and tagging - some tagging is artful and sometimes even clever. However, our tagger of the last 24 hours is no artist and I've chosen to blow up the area that was tagged and show it how looked yesterday the way Pastime's crew left it.

have not yet found the painting that the chiaroscuric stencilled fellow is based on, but did find out that 1) it was spraypainted and 2) it was signed by Blek Le Rat.

a good thing happened the other day, a bad thing happened the other day:
the green painting near the middle of this video, which was defaced by
a vandalist, was re-gessoed this week and it looks like the wall will
soon have a new painting. will post it here once it's done. if we're lucky,
i will be able to capture some of the process on my Flip.
